Alba's Maturing

Today I am: a loyal Scottish man,

favouring Independence as we can.

Alex, First minister, leads us free...

Full Independence, as may be!

These days, politics work to serve,

winning for us, what we deserve -

the honest love of our fine land:

freeborn Scotland, as we stand!

'Loyalty's Duty' to steer and guide,

honourable elements, as we stride...

leading all safely there, and aloft -

doing well: winning hard 'n' soft!

Past passed, and there must stay,

more than that, we just can't say;

future ahead - approaching 'now',

into 'Beyond-Country', shall show!

Fore and Aft, may perceive/review;

Scotland - everyone shall renew -

Referendum: all shall safely vote:

now, no 'Second Class' tag to tote!

Future-path, we'll map for ourselves,

no more from UK's 'old back shelves';

with fresh fields, 'ploughs and turns',

fording easily, our Country's 'Burns'!

Our past travels so far back in time -

but not ignoring the 'note and rhyme':

presently, and in the here and now -

bringing all brethren safely in tow! 

This is 'First-Step' for  Grand Nation,

by our Genes - do select destination;

without need of our 'Union-approval',
