Alien Nation- A Very True Story
For Simon Bromleyβs Alien Challenge
When I was just a young man, I thought Aliens a fantasy;
A figment of oneβs imagination, extra-terrestrials did not be!
But one night in sixty-seven, changed my life foreβer;
For hovering right above me, a Flying Saucer was there!

I blinked, thinking βtwas a hallucination, but it did not go away;
A multi-colored apparition, floated directly in my way!
I marveled at its beauty, the colors of its panes;
The windows well-lit prisms, not to be disdained!
.
Then all at once, it disappeared, right before my eyes;
What had been there just moments ago, quickly then had rised!
I searched the skies a long time, but it had absconded with my Soul;
For I knew I could never doubt again, or believers to cajole!
.
That was the one and only instance, I saw a UFO;
But it made me a believer, for I knew Iβd always know!
Our Universe has other inhabitants, more scientifically advanced than we;
Light years ahead of our knowledge, and our inferior technology!

Hi Larry...I too saw a UFO...it was when I was on a school adventure holiday on Dartmoor. It was way back in 1977/1978. There was a bunch of us who saw it and it was quite a sight! Of course, many gave their explanations as to what it could have been but the thing is, a couple of days later, it was reported in the papers that a huge burnt area had appeared inexplicably on Dartmoor!Β I am sure it was a UFO that we saw. Another true story x

It was so nice that you had many people with you for your experience, to validate what you saw.Β I didn't put it in my poem, but my Father was driving, fortunately not on an expressway, and when we saw it, he was mesmerized too, and we almost hit a telephone pole.Β What wonderful proof for what you saw, that huge burnt area in Dartmoor!
