All Roads Lead to Rome

Curiosity slowly killed the cat
Loyalty quickly killed the dog
Don't ya know?
All roads lead to Rome
A place in your head, a state of mind
The good die young
And the bad, have learned to survive
Don't ya know?
All roads lead to Rome
A surreal memory, a supressed dream
You get more bees with honey than vineager
But, you kill them with fire
Don't ya know?
All roads lead to Rome
Resltless soul and tired feet
A left turn leading to sun shinning skies
To the right, a dark and lonely highway
But, don't ya know?
All roads lead to Rome
Rome
Where we remember what we've lost
And where we pay our dues

Hi Amber,
The "iters" of our past can haunt us, although, the "loyalty of my dog", killed me. The sacrifice of the "good" so "evil" may live on. The roads to Rome can be precarious, if one chooses the wrong fork.
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
Thanks friend
hey, pal, you got me snapping my fingers and doing the 'running man' slow version....yeah, I like your stylistic approach and conception of a poem, very organic and true to the process of that line from the Beatles song; the love you give is equal to the love you take, or good Karma follows; my interpretation sis....side note, any reference you Rome is a good thing in a poem, was over there last year, and it's AWESOME....my opinion of this is; fresh as roses, enjoyed you cool, original phrasing...reads like you had a ton of fun writing, and in the end that's all that really matters...keep on rockin, enjoyed
Thanks Christopher. You see, I work with Alzheimer's, dementia and hospice patients. And in their youth, some were good, and some were bad. No matter how they chose to live their lives, they still ended up the same way as the other way. Working with these patients gets me to overthink sometimes. Food for thought perhaps
Really awesome write Amber. The chorus is brilliant and really makes the flow work well. Very much enjoyed, good luck. Peace.
Thanks everyone?
