Alone

Alone

Tired mind and ancient hart

collide in a field of ghosting souls

glimmering sky peaks through drowsy tufts

captivating a broken thing

a little shadow wanders in the night

gathering peaces of armor

worn by time

             a meager defense

       sky sees fire

at the core of shadow

           watching

shadows gaze

guided by yearning

  sky weeps

knowing

    only birds can fly
