alone in the dark

Alone in the dark
Walls closing in
Tears start to fall
Heart is breaking
Holding tight to my pillow
Watching as the sun comes up on a new day
Putting on a smile
A strong front
Just to get though the day
Alone in the dark
I wish one night to crawl up and roll over and someone is there
Alone in dark then won't be so lonely.

I identify - in hearbreak, the night time can be the worst time of feeling alone. Thank God I learned to love my own company and myself. I so love my own company today, I have to be careful I do not isolate. And (for me), there is a difference between loneliness and solitude. Bonhoeffer said Community brings warmth and solitude brings light. And one can also feel alone in a crowd. Lovely poem. Cheers. JCG
That's right. I have never lived alone. I fear to be alone. And the dark with not a sound of people scares me to no end. Even though them were the bad I still was comfortable in dark.
