~ ALTERNATING ARABESQUES ~

~ ALTERNATING ARABESQUES ~

As I was warned, the apparition's dance
With alternating, arabesques

Like shadows racing, across my ceiling...

And as I watched these ghosts adorn
Strange sounds from Cellos, and French Horns
I dreamt of the days, my sons were born...

As my heart was pulled, from my chest
No sound, only a heaving across my breast
Went dancing through, this soft quintessence...

Like ballerinas, holding an ever-spin
My face held onto, an inherited grin
My heart felt a lonely beating, from its essence...

Where I became, that apparition's dance
As I am now, an alternating, arabesque
Happy each morning, in all my life's dances...

Knowing that somewhere
My sons have been given,
All of the chances
I have been given,
As I dance,
And I hold,
My lonely,
Arabesque...

Life truly is a dance my friend. I loved your use of the arabesque. When I studied ballet they would say “the longer you can hold your arabesque, the more you will be able to pirouette (spin on your toes) So you would practice holding, because you wanted to spin the longest :) I hope you can hold your arabesque for a long long time. So you may pirouette a long happy life :) Wonderful write, and my favourite instrument tucked in to “the cello”
Pinned :) x

A life to reflect on and a delicate balancing act each new day.
Another superb poem Tony and your choice of the word arabesque is inspired.
To weave something magical around it is simply stunning to read, your train of poetry thought and the varied unique themes you display and gratefully share are wonderful to behold.
Nothing escapes you and clearly nothing is unwritable or too difficult to project.
You put your heart, soul and your love of the craft in every poem and take a reader on a journey and said journey is equally inspiring and positive.
I wish you well Tony and respect you sir, fully.
