Always Leave An Out

Let's take a ride,
Out of this box,
Brought back by the tide,
Draped over the rocks.
Spent the days,
Wondering the maze,
A little lab rat,
Trying to contemplate how,
I can now be sprung from this trap.
Hate to have the walls,
Coming closing in,
It's not the claustrophobia I fear,
Me just being to tight in the skin.
Perfecting in tries,
To train the eyes,
Seeing compromise without surprise.
A sealed box can always be more open,
As the tide takes us deeper into the ocean.
Little lab rats,
Find the cheese,
Which has always been the trap,
Bread crumbs to get back,
Opting out to leave.

Lost at sea,
Required to float,
Choosing walls to plot the path,
Go scurrying little trapped lab rats.
Through a maze that we create,
To run through the mind,
Calculating,
All the time.
Staying positive,
Lying dormant the doubt,
And predetermine moves via route,
Adapt a motto,
Always leave an out.
