Always our home

Its only a house we tell ourselves,Â
with cupboards and drawers and wooden shelves, it's only bricks and doors and beams It's not worth a lot or so it seems.
Yet our hearts are aching and the tears are flowing what is the future it's best not knowing,
it's only a house some people may say but a family home it will always remain.
The house will be gone and that's a fact but what we have is a special pact, We are strong and that's Mam made us so let's do her proud and be the bravest, we will have our memories and they can't be bought and the country park we will definitely walk.
So dry your eyes and be really brave it's a us three together and that's always the way...
always in our hearts mam xx

I loved your well-written poem just as you have it, Rhian.
I was simply having a bit of fun toying with the meter, rhyming and the flow a bit.
It's a favorite past time of mine having taught poetry for a number of years.
Loved it, well done!

I loved your beautiful poem,
with its warm love and memories,
For a home is a home, especially when love is living there ?  with memories stored, regards - Olivia  âď¸
Aww thank you for that xxx
My pleasures âď¸
Oh this is beautiful. Made me tear up ⤠what a talent.
Thank you that means a lot to me xxÂ
How lovely, such a beautiful poem?
It may be âjust a houseâ, but one which holds such fond memories will always mean so much more to you than just brick walls to someone else. Someone new.
I still drive past the house I grew up in, and it still feels like Iâm going home when I turn down the road! I donât think that will ever change. And I donât think I want it toâ¤ď¸
Again, wonderful poem! ?
