Always Searching For Paradise

I confess, I've always been searching for paradise
I've always believed that God was not in churches or priests
I've always known that he was inside all peoples, and that all you need
Is the ability to split a piece of wood, and he'd be there
Or lift a stone and you could find him, not in the churches of wood or stone
I confess, I've always been searching for paradise
And I am well aware that I'm on my way
For I was touched last night, in a dream of glorious light
Where my soul was lifted and seemed to touch all things
Like a feather blanket layed, ever so gently, over a sleeping child
And as I realized my state of grace had me swooning in such joy
I woke to the sound of the children playing outside in the street
And I knew that I was home and that it was where God needed me to be
So, I confess that I have always been searching for paradise
And it came to me last night, in a dream........
