Ambition No More

Ambition No More

Nieve  dreams, resew the seams

of who I used to be.

With truth in eyes, I wear a disguise,

and pretend that I don't see.

I pick a smile from the pile,

though my frown is just beneath.

I keep it on, all day long,

so not to spread my grief.

Hiding behind, an optimistic mind,

My spirit falls away.

So sorry that, my voice is flat.

But its always been this way.

I've become this routine human being,

 you see before you today.

amazing syntax, your rhymes are so spot on, elegantly understated intelligence, emotive without being maudlin, no distracting flowery language, subtle quality pops off the page...impressive!

Wow! Thank you seriously! I make the mistake of "over doing it" from time to time.  those works usually end up in the trash. I want it to be authentic and relatable. The fact that you point that out makes me feel really good, thank you so much!
