An Angel

I never thought it true
but I lived a miracle and I
want to share it with you
 
It was the night of my
Daughter’s recital
The pain in my knees almost
unbearable
 
I got up to go outside just as
my daughter finished her part
I was in too much pain to see the
next band start
 
As I was walking out I was stopped
by a young student
I don’t usually talk to strangers
So, I was a little reluctant
 
She asked me something I couldn’t
quite hear
I asked her to repeat herself as I
cupped my right ear
 
She said, “can I pray over your knee?”
I stepped back looking shocked that
a child would want to bless me
 
I was a little hesitant but said
yes
It was a simple prayer but I still
felt blessed
 
When she was done I gave her
a hug and limped away with a
smile on my face
thinking to myself that was weird
and out of place
 
For weeks I didn’t think about it
until I realized my knees had no
pain
a tear rolled down my face as I
thought about the young girl
who prayed for my strength again
 
I sit here today able to walk again
without agony
I look back and now know it was an angel
God sent to me
