An Angel On The Stairway

Last night I had the strangest dream, it came in two separate parts;
The first one, I was with Cody, the love of my broken heart!
We were on the roof of a tall skyscraper, no rails to us protect;
I held him close, so very terrified, the wind might him affect!
.
I said, “Cody, stay close to Daddy, I will hold you very tight”;
“I’ll not let anything happen to you, I’ll calm your fearful fright”!
But next, we were in the townhouse, where Linda and I now live;
We were calling for dear Cody, to come downstairs, and love us give!
.
But then we had a horrid feeling, that he had passed without us there;
Just like our Blessed Nico, whom Fate stole without a care!
Yet then, my dream did a one-eighty, for when I raced up atop the stairs;
The was a darling little puppy, with dark black ebon hair!
.
At first, he was afraid of me, but Linda allayed his fears;
She told him, “This is your new Daddy, and he loves you very dear”!
He cautiously approached me, I nestled in his lustrous coat;
Then our Souls eternal bonded, forever on each to dote!
.
.
Oh my dear Angels
You sent Daddy a puppy
To cure all his pain

dear Larry and Linda is this true you have new dog in your life
Dear Greg,
No. It was just a dream. When I was a little boy, we had a black Cocker Spaniel that my mother had when my Dad met her. His name was Chop Chop, and I used to ride my little bike around our apartment, with him in a box that my mother had affixed to it. He passed away when I was four, and I think this black puppy in my dream represented him.

A lovely prophetic poem , your new dog will be very loved.
John
Dear John,
Thank you for your most beautiful comment.
The dog in the dream, I am sure, represented a black Cocker Spaniel, that we had when I was a little boy, named Chop Chop.
If and when Linda and I decide to get another puppy, it will definitely be a snow white Bichon Friese.
Love,
Larry xxx
