~ An Army Of Ants ~

~ An Army Of Ants ~

As in the light
Of evening's dew drops
A glint from a fire
Shone
Like the firefly
In autumn's colors
Revealing
The smokiness of their eyes
Like desperation
Glowing and glinting
At the fire's
Breath
Insinuating
Death was near
And manifesting
As an army
Of ants
Carrying a torch
Crystalline and carnivorous
Slowly moving
As one shadowed wave
In evening's
Promise
Of blood red barbarism
Gathered
As one slow, slithering
Finger
Pointed at corpses
Awaiting internment
At cemeteries
Rest
And being devoured
In seconds
By an army
Of ants
Crystalline and carnivorous
A secret well kept
As in a glint
From a fire
Crackling,
Autumn's
Colorful,
Desperation....
