Poem -

an ode to death

Oh Death
in crimson clad
she dances
the twilight
soft and slow
so fair so bright
to lead us onward
to the endless
endless starry night

a waltz with shadows
in the moon’s embrace
a memory of peace
where sorrows grow
in shadowed halls
of night she roams
a figure
draped in crimson
soft as dreams

her eyes
in darkened skies
they gleam
whispers in the wind
where sorrow foams
her cloak a river red
with silent flow
enfolds the world
in tender velvet grace

a touch
a gentle touch
upon the face
her beauty haunting
leaves a tender trace
and weary spirits
listen thus
as death sings
death sings her lullaby
