An Unknown Proof
When it rains...

When it rains it pours 80 proof
In a deluge it's 100
And I have been caught in that
I floundered
Drowned like a fish
Bathed in the warmth of oblivion
High in the night
I flew with might
Drinking kryptonite
It became my holy water
My heaven elixir
It blessed as it burned
Down my gullet in liquid fire
The flames went higher
Higher in the night
Loving kryptonite
I flew to the past and saved
countless loves
that I lost, igniting candles that were once burned
then quenched by tears
I let the heavenly waters fall
In the deluge of alcohol...
it rains memories that are 80 proof
And when I think of an angel
it's never strong enough
I have to forget, unlearn
How to swim in the fire rain
The memories that burn
An unknown proof

Oho! This poem excited me. Really like its structure and feeling. In my ballpark for style. Enjoy it profusely. Peace and smiles to you. Michael. TFOTS
Thank you, TFOTS. I'm glad you like it! This piece was just to remind myself that the "sweet rain" of alcohol only burns in the end.
Thanks again. Peace!
