ANCESTRAL RUINS

ANCESTRAL RUINS

The path wound a little unsteadily up the mountainside
And I stumbled on the rough uneven soil
The view from above enticed me on

The ancestral ruins stood bold against the mountain side
The stones were the building blocks
Of the generations to come

It was then my chattering mind was stilled
And the great earth voiceΒ
Cradled me gently and whispered in my ear
It was then I knew that the dream was real
That the heavens were a breath away
And the warriors of old lived on inΒ
The stars
Here in the stillnessΒ
Among the ruins
The warrior stretched out his hand
And connected me to the dream
