The Fairy Hosts

The Fairy Hosts

The moon wrestled with the tides that night
I sat and gazed at this rhythmic play
As the sea foam fingered it way
To me, inviting me to stay.

I was aloneΒ
In my thoughts until the fairy hosts
Of the air swept over me

And I heard the seven trumpets sound

And the wild call of the Sidhe
In the winds and the sea breeze
Bore deeply in my mind

Awake,Β
Remember
A timeΒ
You were alive with the hosts of the heavens
Breathe divinity in your mind

Awake and remember that time

Hi Tony, thank you for that. It is wonderful to get such lovely feedback as I have just started to write poetry again, had stopped for a long time.Β The Sidhe is an Irish word for spirit beings, who live under the earth in Ireland. They fought a battle with warriors (Sons of Mil)Β who came to Ireland and decided to live in another dimension rather than share the land.
