And Birds Fall

And Birds Fall

So shoot me down, I won't object
To capital punishment.
Lift that barrel, the glint
A fiery scepter burning jagged welts...
Spelling the word JUSTICE into your eyes;
The bullet sitting patiently in the dusty goo of its socket.
And do it, I deserve it, so do it.

But don't point the finger at me
When my phantom lays you down
At point blank.
It's not revenge, just returning the favor,
Because you know you deserve it too
—and all birds fall... eventually.
