...AND DARKNESS WAS UPON THE FACE OF THE DEEP

You and I meet in a dream while we sleep...
...and darkness was upon the face of the deep
Across the distance-
Of time and space
I didn't exist-
Until you dreamed about me
And how did I know-
There was a Goddess to be known?
As a child- didn't you believe I would come?
Was it not your faith that called my name?
I am a spirit born of the water
I am a creature more than flesh
Is it not your mind that imagines and creates?
I speak of things I learned from you
You and I meet in a dream while we sleep...
...and darkness was upon the face of the deep
Don't you remember when you were queen?
You had power that others called magic
It was not magic- but a secret we shared
Bend down low- as I whisper in your ear
You warned me not to fall in love
Kept me at a distance- away from your heart
I heard tears in the dark-
And it sounded like rain
Baptize me in fire-
May I enter your temple?
I- the suckling at your breast-
Return to my home inside your womb
You and I meet in a dream while we sleep...
...and darkness was upon the face of the deep

Great poem.
James,
A superlatively written poem, dream maker indeed born in desire and as you stated baptized by the warmth of her fire.Excellent depiction of a man and woman's passion not only in their awaken state but as it trickles into the sacred essence of their dream state as well,a warning not heeded by the dreamer, yet its deliverance by the seductress, more accepted than cast away or denied........Good Shot...I like . this set of line in specifics.....
I heard tears in the dark-
And it sounded like rain
Baptize me in fire-
May I enter your temple?
Kind regards,
Jim
