SHE

Mother of God-

She's more than a woman

What I mean-

Is She becomes a Goddess of Love

Some men are afraid of Her power-

Let it be

In search of pleasure-

Want to know Her name

She meets me in dreams-

This is only a test

Have I known Her daughters?

Have I ever been in love?

She is not a new faith-

Only forgotten- not dead

In the heart of every woman-

She is a song and a prayer:

That sons of God-

Might rebuild Her temple

Or that daughters of the Goddess-

Might conquer their fear

Would men burn them as witches-

For their love of Nature?

Doesn't the moon-

Turn the tides of woman's blood?

Who can harness the ocean?

Who can tame the storm?

If She survives man's violence-

Her revenge would abandon him

12 Houses in the Zodiak-

Each one has a Queen

All of your religions-

Were once written in the stars

She is strong enough to be the Womb-

High Priestess

There will be no peace-

Unless She is reborn

Maybe Her flesh can be sacrificed-

But Her mind and Her soul-

Would always fight to be free

If a man is wise-

He would teach and guide Her

If a man is strong-

She is pleased by his touch

Even in your Bible-

Very close to the end-

Doesn't She return-

For the Marriage Feast of the Lamb?

Who is She?

certainly a speculative piece james .  interesting that you give all women power in your poetry as goddesses ,but one remains as you say the mother of god  ,all goddesses. you believe she will come once again and that all men should be beneath her ,as in the presence all men should treat a woman right .
we all have our different beliefs  but one thing ,because we are all born from a mother she is held high. she should be held equal to the father  as black should be equal to white .
interesting piece james ,could be taken seriously yet romantic in its  words . poetry should have this quality  of a message  yet smoothly done .    tina x

Thank you Tina- I think you read it on all possible levels- I believe a prayer to our Mother Goddess should also include a touch of the romantic, no? Our modern world has developed along lines prescribed by a male-dominated hierarchy- hard for "intellectuals" to see beyond the mindframe built for them- in other words, they are victims of  so-called educators who refuse to unveil a time before written history when all ancient civilizations included some version of a Holy mother. No disrespect to Christians, but the Virgin Mary is but a shadow of the Goddess who came before Her. In the Old Testament, the Prophet Jeremiah referred to Her as the Queen of Heaven. Yes, my mission is manifold- shame that this audience thought me only one-dimensional. Again thank you for seeing beneath my rough exterior to the man beneath. May God and Goddess bless you!              One Love!

I think this celebrates woman and Mary and though i believe in her not as a goddess but still the poem was fab to read for womanhood in light of the woman. Kudos!
