Poem -

And The Raven Cries

A girl not grown

She's a girl, not grown but clad in armour. She carries her sword and her shield and she shivers in the shadow of what she has become.
She can make no sense of what she can see as she sits in the darkness forever.
Just shapes in the blackness moving from side to side.
She can hear his voice but knows not what he says.
And in the darkness he has grown all twisted and pale and yellow eyed.
How can she reach out and touch this creature, this thing she brought to life through her years of solitude.
She created him through fear and now she lives in fear of the abomination, the aberration she now keeps in chains.
She offers him her sword.
She hears the chains drop to the floor.
And the raven cries.

Thank you. It takes a better person to read poetry than to write it.
