PINK ANGELS

It started off an illness
Something to be cured
A vicious nasty illness
But there was hope; could be endured
The treatment was relentless
Didn’t care for her young life
A poison in her system
Filled her days with woes and strife
A selfish nasty illness
That she could have got a hold
But the young will live forever
A statement now; too bold
A selfish nasty illness
It consumes your life and mind
You wake up in such fear
A bad dream; don’t think you’ll find
A selfish nasty illness
That one day she did relent
Said goodbye to all her family
Her young soul was heaven sent
A selfish nasty illness
No one should feel such loss
A Daughter, Aunt or Mother
It doesn’t give a toss
A selfish nasty illness
That one day we hope will die
So be aware; and wear your ribbon
For those pink angels in the sky ...

Nice write Clair :)
lovely congrats x
Cheers Susan!
Beautiful and in a way that, though tragic, really honors someone who fought hard. It also highlights the merciless nature of the beast, this illness that strikes all ages of women.
Thanks Jenny, sadly an all too common tale!! All support for breast cancer awareness is definitely a good thing, so a great topic to write for!!
Well done Jenny...love shining through writing.
Nice flow even stanzas deep meaning I love it!
