Angel’s Guiding Light

Angel’s Guiding Light

Dumbfounded amidst the depth of camouflaged confusion
Zero visibility was a foregone conclusion
A rush of panicking trepidation
As a smothered cloud of bafflement bemused my location

Frantically flicking my headlights on & off again
I tried my upmost to find the white lights but my actions was all in vain
Only deep, darkened obscurity
Alas was my puzzled vision
Yet I inevitably had to decide an immediate decision

Unfamiliar with this random route
I was completely caught unaware
“Drive twenty miles, turn right, next left & in six miles you will be there”
My Husband’s directions, yes this seemed a simple task
Yet this murkiness of ‘London fog’ was an undesired miraged mask

Slowly creeping ever on with my hazard warning lights to alert
I drove cautiously forward thru this mind, menaced hurt

I am convinced Angel’s watched over me on that dreaded dangerous night
Urging me ever-onwards acting as my guiding light
I shall never forget that thankful feeling of self-congratulation
Opening my frontdoor on my return home to familiarisation
