The Answered Prayer

Answered Prayer

Mist is mingled with times past.

A white vapor floats over the treetops

I softly call it to the window

Closer to my eyes

I want to block out the new day.

Every day a repeating yesterday.

The break of day is so silent.

I feel isolation since you left

I tell myself

Not all people alone are lonely

Not all lonely people are alone

I sit in the middle in a misty haze.

I know now

you will never return to me.

After you left

I prayed to God every night

that you would come back home.

At long last

God has answered my prayers

He said, No!.
