Apocalypse Now

Apocalypse Now

The year is twenty-forty, and things have changed a bit;

The military now rules our country, and is very proud of it!

In all the major cities, the riots have now stopped;

For the peacekeepers are deadly marksmen, who replaced the battered cops!

It all started in twenty-twenty, when in the last year of Presidency;

An ego maniac we had elected, displayed his power, the world to see!

So he nuked a dozen cities, which began the “Final War”;

The carnage lasted two weeks, but took twenty years restore!

Two thirds the population, was wiped off the face of Earth;

Then for two of the darkest decades, it faced its worst known dearth!

Survival of the fittest, was the only way to live;

The war had bred many renegades, and no quarter would they give!

After the “fallout infested air” cleared, that took a dozen years;

The sequestered military forces, came out to save their peers!

They restored the law and order, that once, the world had known;

But if anyone tried to destroy it, no mercy would be shown!
