Poem -

Approaching Human Life

Love more even those you never touch,
silence that you are naught to hear,
and think, in the enormity of the human mind,
and love the places that will never be.

Reading a card
may prove an intensely more difficult task tomorrow,
when the chimes sound like funeral bells.

Hate more the way you sometimes behave,
for this is the only way to learn.
And hate only this,
for you need only to learn yourself.

I read the card yesterday, no word remembering.
Today - today, I cannot get its prose out of my head.
