Are you Serious?

o my God! America you broke my heart
Once I believed in what you stood for
now I'm confused about what you stand for
I don't have any political leaning; I'm Canadian
but I'm surprised, this baffles me
how can you just decide to re- define democracy?

Hello Christopher...
I am here watching this and I don't believe it myself...
What I think happened is that people that said they weren't going to vote one way ended up voting that way anyway...
That's one thing I heard...
People want the deportation and they want change and any change they're willing to take the risk...
They want the wall...
People made more money in 1999 than they are currently making and costs are up...
All we can do is pray for the success for our leader and the prosperity of our country...
Over 55 million people here voted for Trump so far...
They're still waiting on a couple of states, but Alaska always votes Republican...
Clinton had a corruption problem and people didn't trust her and she really wasn't strong in saying what changes she would make...
That's about where it stands....
Not everyone votes...
We are a country that has gone through this before...
He's famous...
He is the first president who has never served in the military nor has any experience in office....
That's it in a nutshell...
Hugs...
sparrowsong
hey, sparrowsong,
I'm really surprised how 'emotional' I am about this, I've been watching the election for about 3 hours on Fox, switched to CBS, I do feel sorry for Clinton, but if I was American I would vote 'against' Trump, not 'for' her, she didn't say 'anything' that stuck with me and I have been following the process, just saying....as a person I do feel bad for the lady, everyone had her as a decisive winner in the 'polls' this must be very hard on her self esteem, and for that I feel bad, but seriously! Donald Trump is a billionair, part of the 'old boys club' how the hell does he come to represent the 'average working class American?" the man was born with a 'silver spoon' in his mouth and has been a rich playboy all his life, and he is the hero of the working class? nuts! Hey, thanks for commenting, and yes, I still admire America, I'm just really confused right now....cheers my friend
It's not over yet...
Not all the states have called yet...
They don't an answer tonight...
There's a lot of votes that need to be counted and absentee votes have been counted yet either...
We will know more tomorrow...
Thank you again for your thoughts and concerns...
Hugs...
A couple of typos but I'm sure you get it...
Oops!
Trump just won Presidency...
hey, my friend Sparrowsong,
according to a lot of the 'experts' (who also predicted a Hillary Clinton win) the blame should be given to those who decided not to exercise their rite to vote; from what I've been taught in school, voting is VERY important, and it's been said a million times over....hang in there, pal, thanks for commenting
Madness Chris as expressed in your poem
pure madness; let's see what he does;
let us pray!
Kind Rgs

Hi Christopher I myself can not believe this news i
stayed up until 2 am watching the news with disbelief
Brexit here in the UK was a great shock to me this has shocked me even
more. I think it is the along
the same lines as Brexit though, the people are fed up up with politicians
and have voted accordingly
Your poem portrays how a lot of people feel around the world
My prayers and hopes are with America
Great write friend best wishes Debs
hey, Deborah
this felt like the last episode of "Lost" I felt like I was 'so' close to understanding the meaning, but sadly I never did get there, thanks my friend, great comment

T, always cool to talk to you, wish we were sharing brewski's as well, cheers bro
It is a sad day indeed. from one bad president to another this country sucks right about now. great write dear Chris!
Lisa, thanks for commenting, but nobody knows if Trump will be a bad president or not, let's give him a chance...not buying it, are you? hey, it sounded good for a second or two, lol...hugs
My Brother Poet Chris,
I've already sent you a long answer to your most treasured worries about America. It is amazing to me that Hillary won the popular vote, yet we are still governed by an archaic electoral college. I wish I had answers for you. I wish that Hillary had won based on the popular vote. But Trump had the right people in the right places, and won. Now I am obligated to be an honorable American, and give him a chance. So I've opened up my heart to him, praying the "The President" will be a totally different version of the "Candidate". But, betray my new found trust in you, and I will lobby hard to bring you down.
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
Larry, you're a good man, and yes indeed, a most honorable American....yes, I got to see this 'speech' thanks for commenting my friend, your intelligence is more than an inspiration, cheers
Looking for cabin in the great white north......
lol, high five, Mark!
Chris truthfully I fear for my daughter, she is a rainbow hugger....if you know what I mean. she also is handicapped. I haven't heard anything nice about Trump. I can give him one small chance but if his stupid ideas get in the way I am moving to Canada lol
Hi Chris...I'm still in shock...can't believe America could do this...Let's watch and see we might be in forba bigger surprise after all...God bless America!
Cheers
Hey Chris I understand some people's concerns but it was not a sad day , people had just had enough Obama .to be fair also no sitting party has one reelection since George h bush succeeded Reagan . It is very hard to do for either party. You are right trump is a billionaire but he had more charisma than miss hillary and that matters when you talk to the average joe , just my 2 cents take care rock
We were pretty surprised here in the UK too , given the nature of Trump's campaign. We're still grappling with Brexit however, another inexplicable surprise ! Again, democracy seems to be just about functioning here . Fingers crossed Le Pen doesn't win in France or we really are in trouble !
I wasn't 'surprised' by Brexit to be honest, still, it is amazing to see so many huge 'changes' taking place in the world.....'Trump' did really surprise me, 'shocked' even, and now I watch way to much CNN....I have to do some research on this Le Pen dude, scaring me now, lol...another dictator coming out the wood works !
