Fighting with the Phantoms

Fighting with phantoms
mood swings
shadowy places
cold-eyedย
look away facesย
car hornsย
smoking manholes
screaming laughterย
ย whisperingย
street vendor
theatre in the mind
creepingย
glowing
voices knowing
all my secrets
red carย
engine running
guardian angel-winged
discarded lover
back againย
one street over
front door
desk computerย ย
maybe in a dream
life comes
realย ย

Hi Christopher,
Wow!ย Talk about Kismet.ย Due to some medical complications with my wife, and me, being computer illiterate, we've had to curtail our time on Cosmo.ย Things are better now, so we're picking up the pace.ย This morning, I had her pull some poetry from my "poetic Soulmates", I need to reconnect with.ย So we saw your "Fighting With The Phantoms", and the video by Maxine Nightingale singing "Right Back Where We Started From".ย Unbelievably, this is one of my favorite songs, and we had just heard it yesterday in the car while driving.ย ย
I guess some things are just meant to be.ย ย
So now, I leave you with my poetic comment.
Are they dreams or a reality
These "Phantoms" that I know
That take me to dark places
Where only dreamers go
Everything is so different there
My friends become my foes
This surreal World I can't explain
Except in reveled prose
Love you,
Larry xxx

thanks so much for saying that my friend, cheers
A well constructed work showing how you manipulate language to express messages and ideas beyond standard craft. You impress with your appreciation of this medium in form or style !
Keep up the great work.

Hey, Chris.
I haven't had the opportunity to read as much as your poetry as I'd like.
However, I'm glad to have gotten in on the ground floor of this stunning write.
I look forward to reading more from you in the future.
Perhaps you'll return the favor and do the same.
Nicely penned, brother.
