Armistice (Acrostic)

A time of momentary peace is summoned
Reigning a parade of ringing bells humming
Mud and trenches and the war of attrition
Illuded mankind as an aged apparition
Soldiers ceasing their sinister sadistic manhunt
To hear "all's quiet on the western front"
Illuminating the battles they had to confront:
Champagne, Charleroi Neuve Chapelle
Echoing out their last plea's for help
