Arnies Army

People around the world today, are crying saddened tears;
For weโve lost another great sports legend, who shone for sixty years!
His name is Arnold Palmer, he hailed from Latrobe, PA;
And when it came to hitting golf balls, oh, could that man play!
The shots he hit were beyond belief; he ruled the worldโs links;
Hi won minors, majors, and peopleโs hearts, heโd shake your hand and wink!
His army grew more every year, they watched as he them wooed;
With skills theyโd never seen before, most times Lee and Gary subdued!
My Dad and I would watch TV, on the weekends, to see him swing;
In those, his very early years on tour, such happiness heโd bring!
His fights with Jack were off the wall, they came down to the final hole;
But win or lose, his army cheered, for they always him extolled!
The golf green flags have lowered themselves, to honor their hero from the past;
His name will live for eternity, and his legend will ever last!
So we say goodbye to our dear friend Arnie, you made our world a better place;
And when we look up to see the Golf Gods, we will always see your face!

Our Dear G,
I am very saddened by his passing, yet I am more saddened by the passing of our beloved Georgina's Molly Pup.
All our love,
Linda, Larry and Little Cody
I know sweetie, but they are both in a much better place now! and I know Andrew will be much happier now that he`s got his little girl home again with him and Arnie. She knew nothing but love and adoration from us all, I miss her! but Andrew is happy and that`s what keeps me going. You both make my heart shine and I love you both dearly.
God bless and hugs to my little man Cody from auntie G xx

Hey LARRY!!..... fantastic thing you've done here my friend...... He was the reason for bringing Golf its popularity here in America....... He had four Green Jackets if I remember correctly...... and he's one of the only Celebrities (of any kind) to ever have a drink named after him!!...... He was a truly amazing person beyond the sports fame........ he was an American Icon...... and you have done him a great justice here.... with your ALWAYS insightful and compelling poetry!!....... well done brother poet!!....... Hats off to you!!.......T xo
My Dear Brother Tony,
That was so cute, I totally forgot about the drink being named after him.ย I told Linda, the last time we saw him on television at his Golf Tournament, that he did not look good.ย I knew he was in trouble when he was too ill to attend the U.S. Open in June at Oakmont.ย Thank you for sharing your beautiful memories with me.
Peace, Love and Rockets,
xox Larry
Great guy and legend and I loved his drink. Nice tribute Larry.
Hi Brother Poet Devon,
When sipping on one,ย it has to be made exactly as the recipe indicates, for if not, the drink becomes quite insipid.ย
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
