‘Art for art’s sake’

‘Art for art’s sake’

Delicate daffodils trembling in the early March breeze
Such a delightful show of springtime
Your ‘eye-catching’ splendor does please

Standing so tall & proud with
such a seasonal, elegant grace
Your beauty is immeasurable
brightening up the glummest face

Do you realise
the pleasure that you have brought ?
your timing is impeccable
Alighting after the Winter’s wrought

With your sunshine, shakey, yellow mops
You catch one’s gaze as you shiver
As the westerly wind makes you
all in a quiver

A marvellous morning welcome
For any sightseer in your wake
Mother nature’s show of magnificance
An excellent ‘Art for art’s sake’
