As The World Turns

I go out of my way to change my old ways
I like to be receptive to the environment around me
To be well aware of my surroundings and bounce back up
All I sense from the world around me is a struggle
grateful that it all happened and it's all over
in another old hotel room... weeping once again

another one left hurt in doubt and it wasn't my intent
all that I know is that I can't lie anymore
I enjoy stimulation of the heart and mind, I enjoy love without war
I can handle this atmospheric pressure, as I bounce back up
Ups and downs and back around the bend
As the world turns back around time and time again
We gotta know when to be assertive and to know when to be silent

to know is not to know what we falsely knew
I think three steps ahead, yet I suck at the game of chess
Picked up the pieces and connected the dots
I’m not trying too hard to impress

Let me show you what I’m made of
Yet I have nothing to prove
We don’t need another reason why
We just have to find our own grove
My intent is all in or nothing
Within violet rays of the divine
Army green under the maroon below
Gazing out into in the skyline

I don't want to have depressing eyes that don't smile
but life seems to hit me like a tidal wave sometimes!
I want to keep my head up all the time, 
not easy when we feel estranged in a peculiar world
devoted my life to someone than she broke my heart...
now I'm in an old hotel room bouncing back up once again!
