AT THE EDGE OF NIGHT

In the still of the night
Under a canopy of darkness
From a distance echoes
A distinctive sound
Stiletto heels piercing the asphalt
As she glides her way through the town
While wives are asleep
Husbands at their windows peek
Trying to get a glance
Of this goddess curves
With only a silhouette of her beauty
Made visible by the dim street lights
It's enough to arouse
Those cheating hearts nerves
Her shape was chiseled
By the desires of men
For she was never in the daylight seen
But in the minds of those vagabonds
Transfixed behind their windowpane
She was their midnight dancer
In their elusive dreams.
