Atlantis

A life awoken from infant breath
of which humanity flowed,
like sunlight on a snowy morn
my light dared to shine on souls,
whilst living in Atlantis.

From the flesh this sapling grew
arms to embrace the earthly realm,
with wonder my eyes bequeath
the nectar of sweet humanity's home,
whilst living in Atlantis

From fertile love the heart did grow
to love without prejudice, platitude or pride,
friendship flourished from the garden of soul
as innocence danced on sunny days,
whilst living in Atlantis

From depth of creed the mind took flight
immortal hope from ephemeral,
a spring drew kindness of the word
gave life to all that mattered most,
whilst living in Atlantis

Yet the tides washed many down
those happy aisles just memories now,
whilst cynics suckle from savage breast
though bruised I am the ember burns,
whilst yearning for Atlantis.
