‘Auld lang syne’

‘Auld lang syne’

If ‘Auld lang syne’ is listening ~ let us pray he has good ears

And should he have clear eyesight he will be well aware of all our fears

I wonder is he watching over us with sorrowful tears?

As this pandemic plague plunders our vulnerable old dears..

Please ‘Days of old’ brighten up our new

Coz ‘Days of old’ is what ‘Auld lang syne’ means though I didn’t really have a clue

But Oh if he only had the power to get us out this pickle of a stew

Well everyone will sing ‘Auld lang syne’ soon with a Happy New Year to you....

WOW!! JILL!!.....this is a STELLAR example of near perfect rhyme, rhythmic tempo, and perfect metering in a poem......it assails the senses with its profound subject matter and then highlights the potential happiness humans are capable of ~ all in a succinct, piece of poetic, masterful, story-telling, that reminds us all that there is a light at the other end this ~ "Pickle of a stew!!" (smiles).......ALL STARS & PINNED!!......you just keep getting better and better!!......goes to show that ~ "Practice makes perfect!!" (more smiles)......I am your friend and ever-admirer!!......T xo  : )
PS.  I tried to leave stars but it's not working properly! (again)  : (
