Autumn On The Moon
The rocks turned brown, yellow and gold so I'm told,
supposed to be no seasons but it was still very cold;
no leaves, not like West Virginia, explosion of colour,
however, your imagination can run riot if you let her.
If only you left your narrow mind, leave barriers behind,
a new world, not just the moon, your daily silly grind;
instead of bemoaning your lot in life or strangely not,
implying: 'Look at me, wonderful, look at what I've got.
If only, of course, nature and autumn is irreproachable,
apart from magic and chestnuts on the fire delightful;
we head towards halloween when the witches ride and hide,
with sweet memories of the beauty of summer that died.
Now, that autumn moon wanes and waxes like your mood,
take more care, congratulate, not like a lover unsuccessfully wooed.
