Autumn Winds: (The Headland, Hartlepool, September 24th, 2022)

Autumn winds are strong
across the old Headland's sands.
No vibrant leaves are
scattered here, only a bleak,
time-honoured silence.
Although the weather's sonnets
are harsh, they enclose
soft syllables of the tide.
