Poem -

Autumns frozen hearts

Dead tree leaves scattered on the floor

scattered by an ice cold breeze

to my heart I open the door

because if I don't my heart might freeze.

The clouds blanket our deep blue sky

and hide from us the sun

a million chances are passing you by

but this time I'm giving you none.

It helps me to believe that you drowned in the rain

and your heart turned it to ice

because that's what happens to anyone who dares to

who hurts me more than twice.

There are two questions that have been with me

since the day you left me alone.

Why did god give you a heart?

And why is it made of stone?
