Ave Dominus Nox

The light of God showers over her simple beauty.
Serene and majestic,
She sits atop a throne built from the fragments of her broken world.
Though a single tear,
This precious creature dares not shed;
The infinite pain etched in her quiet gaze.....
....Is more than any mere mortal can bear.
And as her weary eyes cast a longing glance above,
The gargoyle on the ledge looks back at her.
Stony, cold and grey.
The embodiment of the nocturne;
His hooded eyes and mocking smile,
Beckons her to him.
This broken soul is taken in.
Wings of the night hunter,
Eyes of the wily wolf,
Face of Lucifer---
This Lord of Darkness feasts his wanton eyes on her pure flesh.
His raspy fingers grazing over her tenderness.
That fire-hardened mouth devouring her willing body.
Having engaged her mind and tantalized her flesh....
....After having his ravenous fill,
This nocturnal being returns to his ledge---
Preferring to retain the security of his solitude,
Than to accept the genuine love of the Angel of Light.
