Waiting

Waiting

Gazing through the midnight dismay,
To the other side of life,
I sense the approach of a long lost friend--
The owner of my hollow soul shall return.

Like the crescent sliver in the heavens above,

Distant, yet infinitely wondrous in its splendor.

Candle gleaming against the misty pane...
The flame I keep concealed,
Blazes just the same.
In its warmth will you always dwell.

I shall be waiting for you...
