Poem -

Awake.

Early morning birds do playfully fly.
Through my window i watch and joyfully sigh.
Young squirrels have no time to play.
They forage for food to get them through this day.
Hungry night cats head home to feed.
Their owners tend to their every need.
I watch and sip on my morning tea.
And enjoy how peaceful early morning nature can be.
A mother fox scurries back to her den.
In her mouth she carries a unlucky hen.
Sky above coloured a summertime blue.
And through it a bald eagle flew.
Look at my watch and and it reads five o’clock.
Soon life’s human insanity its madness will unlock.
