Awakening

Awakening

A bud that slowly grows and blooms.

A gentle breeze 'cross golden dunes.

A sunflower that turns it's face.

A spiderweb of silken lace.

An ember glowing from the ash.

A diamond sparkling 'mongst the trash.

A newborn calf that finds it's feet.

A heart that once again can beat.

A rainbow in a leaden sky.

A fledgling learning how to fly.

This is how it feels for me,

as you begin to set me free

and though you'll always have my heart,

the time is near for my new start.
