WEEPING

Weeping
It was weeping when I saw it
run
Past rabbit warren days of fun
Its angled head away from
light
A hunched up shape, a
fleeting punch
Of lightening speed yet,
shuffling gait
It's misery stamped by
All its fate, a'weeping
In an aching way
A poor wee thing a'blind to
day

And so all hearts who saw it
pass
Raised shaking hands to gods
Who last
Prayed fervent for their
fleeting souls, and
Rescue from life's deep black
holes
And all the hearts who saw it
run
A'weeping in the hidden sun,
all
Turned away and offered nay
And wished the poor wee
thing away,  still
Weeping
