Back to You

How could I matter
When you last longer
Than I can imagine?
You know me deeply
And I wish to be understood
So I come back to you
To bask in your infinity.
I come to you to drink
But my thirst is never quenched
Instead it grows ever stronger with every sip.
I beg for more
And there is always more.
I know your horrors.
I have heard rumors
Whispered on the wind
Of lives destroyed by you
On a whim
Just because.
But I ignore them
Because to acknowledge your deadliness
Would give me
A reason to stay away.
You tried to drown me in your embrace
Holding me back from shore
But I escaped.
Now I am free
To come back to you
Again.
