Bad News

If you got told some news
that could just make you lose
something you hold so dear
it may feel like a spear
going straight through your heart
right from the start

I want nothing most
than for her to get up
make some toast
something so normal
everything so formal
all these medical terms
and avoiding all these germs

This might just affect me 
I hope it hasn't wrecked me
but I will love her so
