BANG BANG!!

BANG BANG!!

On a dark and blood stained morning

In the town that had no name

Their blissful lives were broken

And the town it got it’s fame

That day won’t be forgotten

Nor the pain will ever ease

Burden in their hearts

Bestowed by scum and sleaze

The children were so happy

A place of sanctuary and joy

No parent ever worried

For their little girl or boy

But that happiness was quashed

When he brandished out his gun

Children used as targets

There was nowhere they could run

He sauntered through the playground

As if he had no care

The teachers didn’t spot him

At the door just standing there

His face was a blank canvas

No etching of a feeling

Staring into open space

But his actions left them reeling

There was no rhyme or reason

Insanity ensued

This dead beat grudging student

Carried out his hell-bent feud

His gun was like a claxon

A starter of sheer hell

Children scared half witless

Scrambling on that gunman's bell

Bang bang ... it just continued

For what seemed a thousand years

The noise survivors won’t forget

That brings back all the tears

A scene of bodily carnage

Counselling was a must

Even seasoned officers

Took time to re-adjust

Thirty children altogether

But only ten of them did live

The teacher died the first

For them her life she had to give

The culprit he fell last

On his own gun he did go

No waiting for reprisals

The devastation he’d not know

Children they were scattered

Peppered all around the class

An assault of metal bullets

Took them out in one great mass

The sorrow; you could touch it

A black cloud that hung from high

Heartbreak; so much loss

Questions asking why

But no matter what the answers

The result it stayed the same

This brute was out to slaughter them

It was all part of his game

He’d been bullied all his life

Revenge was his release

This devil that had murdered

Bang bang ... don’t rest in peace
