Bare by Ceniqua L. Proctor a.k.a. Nicole Leshelle
Times like these I disappear into my corner,
To a place that doesn't view me as a foreigner.
One that nurtures my sanity.
Away from the worldly things that deplete my vanity.
I reach out to my shepherd that is my only fortress.
The poetry realm is my exit to deal with the remorses.
The closest thing to empathy is the filtering of my aggression,
An art of my testimony to erase my depression.
A deep breath is less resistant in a space of peace,
The burdens of my soul begins to release.
If no one else hears my cry,
I know these words will never lie.
Now is not the time to reflect on what's out there,
For after the drainage, Ill have room to bare.
