Battling Demons(Viking Version)

Battling Demons(Viking Version)

I try out running, but near you always are. You three, Descendants of Loki always stalking, always trailing me.

I gaze into the woods as I run by, I see you Jörmungandr, wrapped around a distant tree but your presence I feel is near.

Hel, the shadow you cast, your pale figure I continue to see. Niflheim calling my name, before you take me, there is still this fight left and a final battle you will see.

I hear your footsteps, the one and only, Fenrir at my back. I turn to look at this legendary beast, the one they sent, in search of me.

Every warrior hopes a good death will find him, I welcome the challenge, your a worthy foe. Circling each other waiting for the first move, you my dear Fenrir, and these demons will not be the end of me.......

Nardine,
Thanks for reading and enjoying. The key to this is to understand Viking mythology and their gods. In order to understand the after life part of it one must be able to understand the characters in which they are portrayed in this little poem.

Nardine,

Loki- He is the personification of cunning, trickery, and evil. Loki is the Norse God of Mischief and Lies. He has three Children, Hel, Fenrir, and Jormungandr.

Hel-  Hel is a goddess of Norse mythology. Her father is Loki, and her mother is Angrboda, a giantess. Her siblings are Jörmungandr and Fenrir. Her task is to reign over the realm of the dead, also called Hel or Neifelheim, where the dead peacefully go to in the afterlife.

Fenrir-   Fenrir or Fenrisulfr is a giant wolf. It is the son of Loki and the giantess Angrboða. Fenrir was tied up by the gods, but was destined to grow too big for his bonds and eats Odin during Ragnarök.

Jormungandr-  According to the myth, Odin took Loki's children. He tossed Jörmungandr into the ocean that surrounds Midgard. The serpent grew so big that he was able to surround the Earth and grasp his own tail, and as a result he earned the alternate name of the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. Jörmungandr's arch enemy is the god Thor. It is said that both Thor and Jörmungandr will die fighting each other during Ragnarök.

These all came from Wikipedia, just copy and pasted here for your reference, Enjoy Nardine.

I figured I better explain so people could understand the story and perceive it the way I wrote it, so no problem.
