Be A Good Sport

Game for anything, that's what they all said,
blame for many things, like finding wife in bed
with someone else, what would you do mon ami,
shoot or whip or let the inconsiderate devils be?

Life is a gamble, nothing is for sure, just remember
when you're cocky, thought nought wrong closing door;
backgammon may turn your life into a zig-zag stripe,
chess could be a sacrifice if someone's not your type.

Bridge may take your whole life obtaining a contract,
Rugby got you by the balls but the rest is still intact,
tennis became an enigma, you kept losing things to love,
athletics raised the bar, couldn't get over anything above.

A bit like marmite or liquorice, love or just hate sports,
then so whatever you might say or do, it takes all sorts.
