Be So Strong

Pull it together, young one.
Your soul looks tired, full of empty spaces and battle wounds from long lost wars.
Are you scared? Of the impact you hold within yourself?
Or perhaps the mishap you seem to create within that scary mind of yours?
Stop being so judgmental- sometimes your good IS enough.
You can't hold up the weight of everyone's feelings on those tiny shoulders.
Tell yourself to breathe. Please, for me. Just breathe, little girl.
Just because you're grown doesn't mean you always have to be so strong.

A very touching poem. I could see a child purhaps a teenager grafeling with the challenges of growing up, making friends, experiecing first losses and future dreams. The end of the poem was brilliant.Â

I've told more than twenty poets today, that I think with adding more to their poem it would enhance the poem. I'm encouraging you as well, to keep going with this mode of thought. You have a great narrative voice, there is such a softness in the narration. Maybe a mom or a dad, I couldn’t be sure. I just liked how the poem sounded.Â

Thank you so much for such kind words. Will take your advice! So glad you enjoyed this piece. :)
I came back to read it again, good stuff.Â

Thanks hun! It means alot that something I've written has atleast touched one person in one way. Makes me feel like it's not all for just the sake of my sanity. You have a great day as well!
